As the Seasons Change, So Does the 3D Mapping

The new, experimental version of Google Earth has seized my attention and will not let it go. I was using it to zoom around the Algarve yesterday when I noticed that not everything had been rendered in the new 3D mapping. Not only that, but the demarcation clearly had one season on one side and another on the other. The 3D mapped area was captured during the height of summer, while the areas next door were captured during what looks like spring (but could be late fall). Following that transition between the two, flying along at a virtual one hundred or so feet above ground, felt very science fiction to me.

Clicking on these images will trigger that view in Google Earth. I recommend it.

Near Fuseta, which is near Olhão.
