Somber, still, surreal and suspended, this design captures the essence of my fascination with incongruous underwater worlds. As a child, I spent countless hours snorkeling in the chilly waters off the sculpted sandstone beaches of Thetis Island where our family camped every summer for over 40 years. That feeling of otherworldly weightlessness informed my fantasies of a submerged version of cities, buildings and countryside.
