Nothing says Vancouver and the Lower Mainland to me like the combination of crows and phone/power lines on poles. Every evening, the crows stream across the city in a seemingly endless column, crossing the highway around the Burnaby Lakes area, and then bedding down in their rookery. That kind of migration was described in the novel, "The Crow Road" by Iain M. Banks, the first time I had heard the expression. This design is also a tribute to that writer, now desceased (way too soon), who has given me so much pleasure. Go read some Iain Banks!
