Portfolio: Mike Lindell - Feathers

Our current reality often seems like some strange, inverted comic book version of reality. In the graphic novel written about 2020 and 2021, this guy, the one and only Mike Lindell, will be cast as a significant supporting character. He's the evil rich guy with all the money who is financially supporting the actual villain, the shadowy figure bankrolling the really bad guy. I hate to judge a book by its cover (and I'm not, really, because the contents of his book are on full display), but just look at the man! Has there ever been anyone more villainy-looking than this man? It's the old central casting joke come to life, the dark and sinister foil to the blond hero. To quote Alex Jones, "You can't make this stuff up!" Add to that his high-octane torrent of (stimulant assisted?) bullshit and his bizarre backstory. Definitely someone who has been welded to this time in history, like it or not.

A picture is worth 1000 words a minute

I chose chicken feathers to texture Mr. Lindell for a couple of reasons. The obvious connection is that he's "the pillow guy," a multi-millionaire who somehow pulled himself out of meth addiction and made his fortune by selling pillows online. I might be recalling this poorly, but I think God sent him a vision or a dream that told him, dude, go with pillows. If I had to guess, he's another loud, useful idiot used by deep-pocketed evangelicals to spread their narrative and launder their money. But I digress. Pillows are traditionally stuffed with feathers and so the symbolism is straightforward. The other thing chickens are known for is squawking, and if there's one thing that Mike Lindell is known for, it's non-stop, high-volume squawking.

There's an embarrassment of riches when it comes to clips of Mike losing his mind, but this one has always stood out for me:
